B, My Crush

If I were Somebody--
long rivers of ink on paper I would save
so as the rest of ashes of graphite
as well as skins extracted from beloved trees now I compose on

I would, I would
be plain with no jewellery to represent me
as a lover should excuse myself from demanding luxury

You would, you would
be the spotlight in my center of both eyes
if only it is all nature like a Muller's Barbet finds her streams of melodies

If I were Somebody--
To you. With you.
Not the wandering, shifting vision to secretly search for your presence
Not Someone who by chance
memorises the name, the details, the changes
which merely will become Something to hold on to
if I were Nobody to none

if only, if only
I were not an idiot savant
writing this poem but confess to you
Would I be More to you than
hanging myself with the hope that
you would decode the set of Code on my right ring finger?
